Program Manager and Fellow Nad’a Kovalčíková spoke on an Atlantic Forum panel on building a transatlantic approach to China, which was made all the more timely by Eurostat’s data revealing that China surpassed the United States as the EU’s main trading partner in 2020. The panelists discussed the growing prominence of addressing China-related issues, China’s strategic approach, and challenges China poses to the transatlantic sphere and to democracies more broadly. Based on Nad’a’s co-authored policy paper, panelists also discussed NATO’s evolving role in addressing China and the broader EU-NATO cooperation and EU-U.S. Dialogue on China and how to foster a transatlantic approach.
