Obscure Russian aircraft parts company sues France’s National Rally to recover $10.8 million it lent in 2014.

Aviazapchast, a Russian company that manufactures aircraft parts, filed suit in the Moscow City Court of Arbitration on December 4, 2019 against Marine Le Pen’s National Rally, to recover the $10.8 million its predecessor lent the party during France’s 2017 presidential election. The company is wholly owned by Valery Zakharchenkov, who is allegedly linked to Russian intelligence. The lawsuit is a further attempt by Russian proxies to inject chaos into the French political system following the 2017 presidential election.
