In November 2019, in Paris, Huawei filed three defamation claims against Asia specialist Valérie Niquet, as well as against a TV presenter and a production company, for Niquet’s statements on a TV show that the Chinese tech giant was controlled by the Chinese state and by the CCP. In July 2022, Huawei backed out of the procedure the day before the trial was set to take place.
