Hacked emails outline Russia’s national interest in interfering in Republika Srpska elections

Ukraine-based hacking group CyberJunta published emails between Russian officials detailing the Kremlin’s outline for its influence campaign in Republika Srpska. The emails prioritize Milorad Dodik’s victory and his promises for a secession referendum for the ethnic Serbian entity from Bosnia. According to Bellingcat, the emails predicted that a secession would destabilize Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, which would lead other predominantly Orthodox countries like Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, and Greece to a re-orient themselves toward Russia.
