Chinese companies involved in Xinjiang repression provide cameras for sensitive locations in Ireland
The partially state-owned Chinese companies Hikvision and Dahua provide surveillance equipment used throughout Ireland, including sensitive political and security locations, such as the Irish parliamentary building, Leinster House, and police stations. Both companies were banned in the 2019 NDAA over concerns about backdoor vulnerabilities, as well as for their role in supplying surveillance equipment used to oppress Uighurs in Xinjiang.
