Program Manager Nad’a Kovalcikova joined an Europe’s Day webinar panel hosted by the Alliance4Europe entitled “True or false? How disinformation divides, and what can bring us together.” The panel was part of the Citizens Take Over Europe program.
Kovalcikova explained that China’s information tactics have become more aggressive since the Hong Kong protests in 2019. And during the coronavirus pandemic, China has adopted tactics from Russia’s disinformation playbook. Beijing has been spreading narratives that aim to divide Europe and NATO member states; elevate its own response to the virus; and deflect blame away from it.
