Russian state-sponsored media outlet falsely reports that the Belgian prime minister said the European Union would not extend sanctions against Russia
On January 30, 2018, Russian state-sponsored media outlet Sputnik falsely reported that Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, in a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, said that the European Union would not extend sanctions against Russia. According to EU vs Disinfo, EU leadership had, in reality, already renewed sanctions a month before the meeting.
