Russian-owned company attempts Ohio election hack.
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose told the Columbus Dispatch in November 2019 that the state’s elections infrastructure had been the subject of an “unsophisticated” attack by a Russian-owned company, although the hack itself originated in Panama. LaRose indicated that the hackers were searching for vulnerabilities in the state’s cyber protections but were foiled by an anti-intrusion system.
