Chinese intelligence agency hack into U.S. Navy contractor
In January and February 2018, PRC government hackers infiltrated computers of a Navy contractor and stole sensitive data related to naval warfare. American officials that the data obtained by PRC hackers was unclassified. However, the 614 gigabytes of information available on the contractor’s unclassified network was of a highly sensitive nature, related to the underwater project known as Sea Dragon. According to experts in the field, this kind of operation aims to develop own PRC capabilities, while challenging those of the United States. The U.S. Navy and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the case.
